Meta Conversions API token
The access token (Conversions API, or CAPI) lets Creator Square send server-side conversion events to Meta (purchases, subscriptions). This improves attribution and targeting, especially when cookies or the pixel alone are not enough.
What it’s for
- In addition to the pixel (browser-side), the CAPI token sends the same events from the server, with hashed customer data (email, etc.).
- Meta can then better match conversions to your campaigns and audiences.
Getting the token
- Open Events Manager (Meta).
- Go to Data sets and select your dataset (the one whose ID you use for the pixel).
- Open the Settings tab for that dataset.
- In the “Set up a direct integration” section, click “Generate access token”.
- Follow the on-screen steps. Meta will show the token only once: copy it and store it securely.
You can generate a new token if you lose the old one; the old one will then be revoked.
Where to enter in Creator Square
Paste the token into the “Meta Conversions API token” field in page settings, in the Tracking & attribution section:
- Sales page: Page settings → Tracking & attribution.
- Course / Community / Coaching: Settings (page builder or settings) → Tracking & attribution.
Creator Square uses this token to send Purchase / Subscribe events to Meta after a successful payment (Stripe).
Best practices
- Do not share your token.
- If you change the token in Meta (revocation or new one generated), update the field in Creator Square.
